Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR) has recognized the need to support the families within our community and beyond in their efforts to move forward. Our families often need assistance in finding affordable housing, gainful employment and the resources they need to feel a sense of dignity and hope for themselves and their children.   

In our discussion with key persons, we saw the need to establish a specific fund at PBMR for the purpose of supporting our families often traumatized by racism, fear for the lives of their children, violence, and poverty.  

As we thought of the many persons who have supported us in our efforts to bring hope to the families who come to us for accompaniment, we remembered Shawn Sweeney. In recognition of Shawn's deep commitment to supporting PBMR, and especially the Mother Brunner Family Center, in gratitude we name the fund in her honor: The Shawn Sweeney Family Fund.  

Shawn is a woman who dearly loves her own family and has for years extended that compassionate love to our PBMR families. Shawn demonstrates an unbelievable faith and courage. She is truly a woman of generous service and daily lives the PBMR spirit of hospitality, hope and healing.  

Therefore we name this fund, The Shawn Sweeney Family Fund, as a way of saying thank you for the many ways Shawn has blessed PBMR and our families, but also to honor this gentle woman and dedicated partner in the mission of Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation.
