Adolfo Davis is granted a re-sentencing hearing

The Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation, along with a host of other coalition members, is gratified and hopeful at the decision of the Illinois Supreme Court which ruled in favor of Adolfo Davis in granting him a re-sentencing hearing.

Adolfo, along with approximately 80 others who were given a mandatory sentence of life without parole, will have his case heard and decided upon by a judge who will hear all the facts and circumstances surrounding his case.

The Catholic Conference of Illinois, Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation, and other faith-based organizations supported the ruling by the Illinois Supreme Court that the US Supreme Court’s decision against mandatory life sentences for juveniles includes those who have already received a mandatory life sentence as juveniles; it is retroactive.
